ROBYN GRABHORN, Educator of the Week
Nominated by Lizzie Schlosser:
Mrs. Robyn Grabhorn is truly one of the most inspirational, motivational and dedicated teachers I have ever met. I am a sophomore at Scappoose High School and have taken Mrs. Grabhorn's preschool class all of my high school career. I plan on taking her classes the rest of it as well. Mrs. Grabhorn has always gone above and beyond to help every single person that walks through her classroom door. At the beginning of my freshman year I was a “troubled” kid, getting myself into trouble every other day. As an 8th grader I was a “regular” in Mrs. Reynolds office (my middle school principal) and I was on my way to doing the same in high school. I walked into Mrs. Grabhorn's classroom with a bad attitude and she was nothing but kind to me.
We reached our goal and raised $20,400 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital!
Brian’s Relay was our most successful fundraiser of the week – it raised over $5000! THANK YOU to all of our many sponsors, local businesses, community members, schools, staff, and students who made this our most successful Doernbecher Days to date!
Check this out! As of April 10, SHS is listed 2nd out of 40 schools in the 4A Division (behind Valley Catholic HS) in points awarded for the Oregonian Cup. The Oregonian Cup was established in 1999 to recognize excellence in athletics (including sportsmanship) and also the academic achievement of our student athletes. Points are awarded for various accomplishments, including team GPAs, throughout the year.
Prom is on May 2! This year, our Prom will take place at the Abernathy Center in Oregon City, 8:00-11:00pm. Tickets are 1 for $35 or 2 for $60 and are available for purchase by juniors and seniors.
